Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of a radiologist and the lead
MRI Technologist, the MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing
MRI procedures following departmental protocols at a technical level, requiring minimal oversight of technical details.

This role encompasses a range of technical tasks, including but not limited to extremity imaging, MR Angiography, and Body imaging.

These tasks necessitate independent decision-making, creativity, and initiative to effectively translate theoretical knowledge into practice, ensuring optimal imaging for diagnostic purposes.

The specialist is accountable for administering both IV and oral contrast agents. A willingness to provide coverage beyond scheduled hours is essential. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment and adequate supplies, as well as ensuring a clean and organized workspace. The role requires adherence to accreditation standards through the ARRT and maintaining certification as a BCLS provider.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program and current RRT certification along with BLS certification. An advanced MRI registry must be obtained within two years of joining the MRI Department.

Experience:
A combination of theoretical training and clinical experience is required. Positive references from previous employers or educational institutions in radiologic technology are essential. Prior MRI experience is preferred.
