Shipyard Craftsman

We are seeking a highly skilled Shipyard Craftsman to join our team at Pacific Shipyards International in Hawaii. As a key member of our labor force, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation and maintenance of wooden components of ships and docking platforms.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of carpentry experience, preferably in a marine environment. A strong knowledge of various types of woods, finish cabinetry attributes, and adhesives is essential. Shipyard/Industrial Experience is valuable but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transfers dimensions to marine plywood and other construction materials using tape measure, square and marking/layout devices.
- Makes accurate cuts of wood and other materials using table and chop saws and other related power tools.
- Troubleshoot leaks, squeaks, warps and make recommendations for appropriate repair.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Able to obtain and maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential from the DoD to gain access to federally controlled work sites.
- Able to successfully obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and local market conditions in Hawaii. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
