About the Role:

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer Manager to join our team. As a Software Development Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for leading dynamic, agile projects implementing a SecDevOps approach across all phases of the software development lifecycle, to include design, development, test, and operational support / user feedback.

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team setting on the design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting of new and existing software solutions, primarily within the satellite command and control (C2) domain space.

Knowledge of Container and Cloud implementations is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead software development projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy software solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, test plans, and technical notes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve software development processes and tools.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, or related degree) and at least 10 years relevant work experience.
  • Java and C/C++ programming (including network, multi-threaded, client-server programming where applicable) on Linux platforms.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
  • Proven experience in software development, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Container and Cloud implementations, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
  • Knowledge of satellite operations, signal processing, digital communications theory, and network communications.
  • Experience with Oracle database management and Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) skills.
  • Lead Software Architecture Design experience.
