Job Summary:

The STEM Camp Counselor will provide support to students participating in the STEM camp under the supervision of the STEM camp teachers. The counselor will serve as a mentor to students and assist with activities and logistics for the camp.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students in STEM activities and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Mentor and encourage students to develop their interest in STEM fields.
  • Collaborate with STEM camp teachers to ensure a successful and engaging camp experience.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the camp.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
  • Current 9th-12th grade or college students, aged 16 or older.
  • Ability to work effectively with children and carry out designated instructional assignments.
  • Good human relations and communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this job include frequent sitting, driving, and walking, as well as the ability to use hands to handle objects and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear, and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend, and may be required to lift up to 40 pounds.

Organizational Relationship:

This part-time hourly position reports to the STEM Supervisor.

Additional Details:

This is a part-time, non-benefited, hourly position with no guarantee of minimum hours. Hours are 8:30-3:30, and locations include the Academies of Loudoun and Sterling Middle School.
