At Ohio Living Quaker Heights, we're looking for a dedicated Caregiving Professional to join our team as a Medication Aide. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for caregiving and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medication Aide to work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. As a member of our care team, you'll be responsible for dispensing medications, observing patients for drug reactions, taking vital signs, and assisting with daily tasks. Your primary focus will be on creating a warm, empathetic, and calm environment for our residents and patients.
Responsibilities- Dispense oral, inhalation, and topical medications to patients
- Observe patients for drug reactions and report any concerns to the Charge Nurse
- Taking vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
- Assist the Charge Nurse in providing patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A current unencumbered certification for the state of Ohio to practice as a Certified Medication Aide
- One year of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in a long-term care setting
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
