The Clinical Unit Supervisor is a skilled and experienced professional Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and managing the Medical-Surgical and Telemetry Nursing care unit. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Conduct regular rounds to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and Director to develop and implement unit-specific policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Provide education and training to staff on new policies, procedures, and technologies.
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of new staff members.
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date).
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical / Surgical /Telemetry nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice; minimum one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Certification in Medical / Surgical Nursing preferred.
- Basic EKG Competence.
- Bilingual skills (Spanish).
- Basic computer skills.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred.
