Job Title: Medical Observation Unit Nurse

About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical Observation Unit. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, executing and evaluating the nursing care given to Respiratory, Dialysis, Renal and High Observation patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis
  • Administer medications as ordered for specific group of patients and demonstrates knowledge of their modes of action, side effects and contraindications
  • Initiate, regulate and otherwise manages IV therapy for a specific group of assigned patients
  • Evaluate patient environment for safety and communicates identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner
  • Provide patient education and keeps patient informed of treatment plan

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • Current ACLS
  • Current CPR certification from American Heart Association required (BLS)
  • Complies with hospital employee health, infection control and safety management programs
  • Current acute clinical care experience preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada
  • Independently maintains license
  • Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice

Estimated Salary Range: $42.67 - $62.17 per hour
