About the Role

Community Health Programs is seeking a Medical Assistant Trainee to join our team. As a Medical Assistant Trainee, you will be part of a cohort of students participating in a sanctioned learning program to become a Certified Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and escort patients to exam rooms, prepare patients for visits, and accurately obtain and record vital signs.
  • Perform patient intake to assist providers in directing patient care, assist providers with exams, and direct patients following visits.
  • May perform EKGs on selected patients, prepare laboratory requests, and ensure accurate labels and records on all specimens.
  • Change/update service profiles to accommodate providers' scheduling needs, answer and screen outside calls, and perform clerical duties as requested.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Enrollment in the sanctioned CHP Certified Medical Assistant training program
  • BLS certification during the trainee program, provided by CHP
