The Licensed Practical Nurse - Patient Care Specialist will assist in the planning and implementation of patient care within a designated program and administer medications to patients according to established protocols. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a positive therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Administer prescribed medication and nursing treatment to patients in accordance with the treatment programs and record occurrences in the patient's record.
- Assist in developing and implementing education programs in areas such as health maintenance, grooming, and medication management.
- Serve as a role model and interact with patients to shape more effective social and personal values, and assist in maintaining excellent standards of patient care.
- Participate in therapeutic programs and other activities involving physical therapy.
- Participate in in-service programs and orientation of new employees and staff members in delivering nursing care and assisting patients with daily living activities.
- Observe patient behavior, make observations, and maintain the physical and emotional well-being of all patients.
- Assist in maintaining proper use and storage of all supplies, equipment, and other resources.
- Perform other duties related to the delivery of the treatment program and quality patient care.
- One (1) year of experience in psychiatric or chemical dependency preferred.
- Current state licensure as an LPN.
