Overview:

Southcoast Health System is seeking a skilled Certified Central Sterile Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Central Processing Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Decontaminate surgical instruments and endoscopes with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and package surgical instruments with attention to detail.
  • Assemble case carts for surgical procedures with efficiency and organization.
  • Decontaminate equipment as assigned and distribute medical and surgical supplies with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Maintain proper documentation and perform other duties as assigned within the scope of position.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification required within 1 year of acceptance of position.
  • Working knowledge of sterilization procedures, equipment management, and case cart assembly preferred.
  • Computer experience required, MSM and Meditech preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, record-keeping, and documentation skills required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 virus or exempt for medical or personal reasons.
