Medical Communications Specialist

The role of Medical Communications Specialist at Truman Medical Centers is a part-time position with varied shifts. The specialist facilitates communication between clinical/non-clinical personnel and Limited English Proficient patients/patients' families, ensuring culturally responsive and equitable care.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months experience in a medical interpretation role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Complete fluency in the Somali language, demonstrated by passing a competency exam with a minimum score of 85%
- Bridging the Gap, JCCC, SBA or equivalent certification
- National certification preferred
This position requires working a minimum of 8 shifts per month, including one weekend shift, where applicable. Additionally, holidays such as New Year's Day and Thanksgiving must be worked a minimum of one shift per calendar year.
