Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP. As a key member of our laboratory operations, you will be responsible for leading a team of medical laboratory professionals and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care through accurate and reliable testing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of medical laboratory professionals in the performance of moderate and high-complexity testing.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory management to develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on testing procedures and quality control measures.
  • Conduct quality control audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to address quality control issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related science from an accredited program.
  • Current active certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a medical laboratory scientist (MLS), formerly known as MT/CLS or American Medical Technologist as Medical Laboratory Technician or MLT (AMT).
  • A minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience in a hospital/commercial lab setting.
  • Good computer knowledge (Word and Excel) and skills in lab information systems.
  • Previous specialized experience in microbiology and blood banking is preferred.
  • Valid and current State of Hawaii license as a Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of laboratory training or experience performing high-complexity testing within the area of specialty.
