Chemistry Adjunct Professor

Nature of Duties:

Under general supervision, the Chemistry Adjunct Instructor prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses. They evaluate students' progress in attaining goals and objectives based on established course grading requirements. The instructor prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports, attends professional development training as required, and teaches Chemistry courses in a classroom/lab/field environment. They provide instruction in the theory and practical applications of Chemistry, measure program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success, and submit results to the department chair. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.

Minimum Qualifications:

The following qualifications are required:

• Master's Degree in Chemistry or Master's degree in a related discipline with 18 hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution
• Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are preferred:

• PhD in Chemistry
• Teaching experience at the postsecondary level
• Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment
