Substance Abuse Support Specialist Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of the administrative supervisor and lead counselor of the Medically Assisted Opiate Treatment (MAOTP), the Substance Abuse Support Specialist will be primarily responsible for developing and managing the case plans for patients enrolled in the Opiate Treatment program.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead counselor to provide chemical dependency counseling, case management, and treatment planning for individuals referred to our Opiate Treatment Program.

Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required, along with personal experience in a twelve-step recovery program or similar background.
  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in human services or behavioral science, along with relevant clinical experience or internships in chemical dependency treatment, is preferred.
  • A valid State of Ohio Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant (CDCA) certification is mandatory.
