At UW Health, we are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team of professionals who excel in the virtual care of critical care patients. As a Nurse on our eICU team, you will work from our command center to support patients at various hospitals across Wisconsin and Illinois.

">About the Role

This is a 75% FTE (30 hours per week), 12 hour day/night shift position with an every third weekend rotation. You will be working on site at 8501 Excelsior Dr in Madison, WI.

As a key member of our team, you will provide virtual support to patients with acute illnesses as well as management of chronic conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Virtually rounding on an average of 35 patients per shift, admitting patients, and responding to changing vital signs.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and leading practice change while collaboratively mentoring RNs at regional sites through our mentorship program.
  • Working collaboratively with RNs, a nursing assistant and an intensivist each shift. Our nurses on this team have an average of 20 years of ICU experience.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Six months of nursing experience or current participation in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit required.
  • Two years of nursing experience in eICU settings required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact upon hire required.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification upon hire required.
  • ACLS within 6 months required.

Estimated salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year based on location and experience.
