Position Overview

We are seeking a driven Senior IT Security Architect capable of working autonomously to perform the necessary architectural assessments and designs aligned with our enterprise security strategy.

The Security Architect will support the Security Architecture team in executing the Security Architecture Strategy and Framework across the CLS organization. This role involves collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Technology to propose effective solutions that meet business requirements while managing security risks and addressing the evolving threat landscape.

The Security Architect will work alongside various divisions and technical leaders to enhance the effectiveness of Security Architecture requirements in the deployment of products, environments, and services. Responsibilities include analyzing potential vulnerabilities and offering recommendations to bolster the security of all CLS services. This role also entails providing technical security counsel, guidance, design, and review in support of all business-related products and services, reporting to a Security Architecture Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic

• Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture to ensure effective solution delivery.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key Information Security Technology areas and apply them appropriately.

• Partner with fellow Security Architects to integrate security into infrastructure and architectural designs.

• Offer guidance on projects related to the security portfolio to enhance the overall cybersecurity posture.

• Evaluate SaaS and IaaS cloud services and virtualization technologies, providing insights for the advancement of the Cloud Security Framework as needed.

• Build relationships with key functional teams such as IT, Compliance, Operations, Finance, HR, Internal Audit, and Enterprise Risk to support ongoing and future initiatives.

• Stay updated on new and revised industry frameworks and regulations: GDPR, ISO 27001/2, SANS Top 20 Critical Security Controls, NIST CSF, SP 800-53, PFMI, CPMI ISOCO, and FFIEC handbook.

• Monitor emerging security threats and evaluate the effectiveness of current controls to identify areas for program enhancement.

Operational

• Engage with stakeholders across the organization to foster relationships and promote the Security Architecture brand.

• Collaborate with program and project managers to ensure appropriate security architecture involvement as necessary.

• Establish a strong connection with other security functions to facilitate the transition of projects into operations with effective governance.

• Ensure the quality of security architecture artifacts, manage engagement, and address escalations as they arise.

• Maintain collaboration with Security Engineering and Operations for managing vulnerabilities, risks, and remediation strategies.

• Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation to work independently and meet project requirements.

• Ensure compliance with security controls to identify gaps, develop remediation plans, and assess residual risk.

• Lead by example in engaging Security Architecture across enterprise projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of expertise in security architecture with a broad understanding of multiple security domains.

• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others to advance key security objectives.

• Strong documentation and report writing skills tailored to both technical and business audiences.

• Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

• Familiarity with policy frameworks and an understanding of policies, procedures, and guideline structures.

• Knowledge of firewalls, IPS, DLP, proxies, SIEM, and endpoint protection software.

Education and Certifications

• Degree in a technology-related field (Computer Science, Information Management, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent).

• Preferred security certifications include CISSP, CISA, CRISC, SABSA, GIAC, CCSP, CCSK, or equivalent.

• Understanding of Risk Management life cycles based on established frameworks: ISO 27001, SANS, NIST SP.

• Working knowledge of frameworks and regulations: ISO 27001/2, SANS Top 20 Critical Security Controls, NIST CSF, and FFIEC handbook, Cloud Security Alliance CCM.
