Job Title: Bus Driver Substitute

Staunton City Schools is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bus Driver Substitute to join its team. As a Bus Driver Substitute, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of school buses to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Operate buses on approved time schedules and use established routes and designated bus stops.
  • Report any accidents or incidents to authorities and instruct riders on responsible passenger behavior.
  • Establish positive working relationships with other drivers, maintenance personnel, teachers, and students.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Meet school bus driver certification requirements.
  • Meet state requirements for appropriate licensing.
  • Ability to operate all vehicle types used in transporting students.
