Job Title: ESL/ELA Teacher

We are seeking a qualified ESL/ELA teacher to join our team at TLC for Kids LA. As an ESL/ELA teacher, you will be responsible for teaching English to preschoolers and elementary schoolers through songs, phonics, and sightwords.

Job Description:

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with children, be an English speaker, and have a responsible and reliable personality. The ability to practice monthly songs in advance and sing them well is also a must. If you are passionate about teaching and have a desire for self-improvement, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach English to preschoolers and elementary schoolers through songs, phonics, and sightwords
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote language skills and creativity
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
  • English speaker with a strong command of the language
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
  • Responsible and reliable personality
  • Ability to practice monthly songs in advance and sing them well
  • Desire for self-improvement and a passion for teaching
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience, preferably in an ESL/ELA setting
  • Singing experience, preferably in a children's educational setting
  • Aspiring actors are welcome to apply
  • Varied hours between 3:15-6:15 pm on weekdays
Compensation:
  • During the initial teacher training (approximately 3 months), the rate is $23 per lesson. And $16 per hour for prep work, or office work.
  • After training, the rate is $26 per lesson, And $16 per hour for prep work, or office work.
