Job Title: Nursing Supervisor Night Shift RN

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Med Surg Supervisor for a nursing position in Newton, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced RN to provide administrative and clinical supervision to our nursing staff on the night shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating optimal utilization of nursing staff, providing support during medical and psychiatric emergencies, and collaborating with the Nursing Directors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise nursing staff (RN and MHS staff) in their day-to-day duties on behalf of Nursing Leadership
  • Provide support during medical and psychiatric emergencies and assist with debrief activities
  • Coordinate and facilitate night shift admissions or transfers to emergency departments, following Admissions department processes
  • Perform administrative duties, including assisting with staffing (e.g. unplanned absences and schedule issues) for the next shift or for the following day
  • Complete documentation for necessary forms
  • Triage and expedite issues of concern to the Administrator on Call
  • Provide an on-site clinical leadership presence for troubleshooting issues that may arise
  • Collaborate with patients and nursing staff to ensure quality of care
  • Communicate information to relevant departments, including Intake
  • Provide nursing staff with clinical instruction or guidance, when required
  • Assist with orientation of new night staff
  • Ensure policies and procedures for patient care are in compliance
  • Maintain standards required by regulatory and accrediting bodies
  • Facilitate resolution of questions and issues relating to departmental operations
  • Provide on-site supervision, in the absence of the Nursing Director or Manager
  • Interface collaboratively with adjunct services and departments
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Master's degree in psychiatric nursing or BSN degree
  • Licensure: RN Supervisor
