Intertek is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer - Opportunities for New Graduates to become a vital part of our Building & Construction division.

As a prominent provider of assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting services in the civil and commercial construction sectors, Intertek offers a comprehensive range of solutions including materials testing, geotechnical assessments, environmental consultancy, industrial hygiene, and specialized testing. Our services are designed to enhance risk management and quality assurance, ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our clients' projects and assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of tasks that involve independent evaluations utilizing established techniques, procedures, and criteria, applying judgment to make minor adjustments and modifications as necessary.
  • Prepare and review preliminary reports.
  • Examine project plans and specifications created by other professionals.
  • Participate in client site meetings.
  • Effectively communicate with clients and project teams.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Provide training to Technicians.
  • Conduct on-site observations, sample collection, and specific testing as required.
  • Work in both field and laboratory settings regularly.
  • Adhere to safety practices and policies to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.
Qualifications for Success:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architectural, Construction, Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in consulting within civil and/or geotechnical engineering is advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to work off shifts and overtime as needed.
  • Potential travel up to 25% of the time.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to frequently lift, move, push, and pull weights between 30 to 50 pounds; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and discern sounds accurately.
  • Capability to kneel and squat occasionally.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasional climbing may be required.
