This role involves the meticulous collection of relevant data to substantiate findings related to chemical safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of chemical hazards in laboratory environments and associated support areas.
- Document findings accurately and evaluate existing safety controls.
- Propose additional measures to mitigate risks associated with chemical exposure.
- Contribute to the formulation of comprehensive safety policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) that address a variety of chemical safety issues.
- Design and deliver training sessions aimed at enhancing awareness and compliance with safety protocols.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in chemical safety.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting.
- Adaptability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
- Experience in federal government roles, particularly in laboratory or research support.
- Proficiency in software applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
