We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Design Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. As a senior mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for designing and documenting heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or equivalent, with at least 10 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer designing HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, sustainable design and automatic control systems. A LEED AP certification and Professional Engineer (PE) registration are preferred.

In this role, you will lead and perform analysis, design and documentation of HVAC systems and controls. You will also contribute to SmithGroup's sustainable design initiatives by using various software to perform energy, heating and cooling load and computational fluid dynamic calculations.
