Position Title: Assistant Professor of Computer Science
We are pleased to present an engaging opportunity at National University for an Assistant Professor in Computer Science. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse range of courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels within the field of Computer Science.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively teach various graduate and undergraduate courses in Computer Science.
Performance Expectations
Performance standards for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Providing a welcome communication to students one week before the course begins, including a syllabus, important deadlines, and course policies.
- Responding to all student inquiries within two calendar days, including weekends.
- Engaging with students through the University’s learning management system (LMS) and official university email.
- Contacting Student Services promptly if a student is not actively participating in the course.
- Encouraging student re-engagement in the course as needed.
- Facilitating two live chat sessions each week using the University’s LMS.
- Delivering constructive feedback that enhances student learning and provides necessary resources and support.
Adherence to University Policies
Part-time Assistant Professors are expected to be familiar with and adhere to the policies outlined in the Team Member Handbook and Faculty Handbook.

Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry experience.
- Prior teaching or training experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrates accountability, honesty, and respect.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various technologies.
Work Environment: Hybrid
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be necessary.
Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $28.89
