This position involves providing high-quality patient care in a variety of settings, working closely with the Registered Nurse to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Patient Care: Provide age-specific care to patients, from pediatric to geriatric, in accordance with unit-based protocols.
- Support RNs: Work under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse to perform delegated tasks related to Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and patient-centered care.
- Float and Work in Various Settings: Be able to float and work in a variety of hospital inpatient settings, including the emergency department.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- License/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited CNA program, BLS certification within three months of hire, and certification in de-escalation training preferred.
- Experience: One year of internal CNA experience preferred, with a minimum of six months in an acute care setting required.
- Maine State CNA Registry: Must be in good standing on the Maine State CNA Registry.
- Communication and Technical Skills: Demonstrates the ability to effectively interact with multiple and diverse patient populations, and demonstrates competency with multiple computer applications.
