Job Summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Avionics Electrical Technician Sr to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for providing leadership, technical expertise, and guidance in the performance of various operational, functional tests, and repairs of avionics/electronic aircraft equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members, ensuring a defect-free aircraft and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  2. Operational Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct operational testing and troubleshooting of avionics and aircraft systems, identifying and resolving issues to ensure minimum schedule impact.
  3. Training and Development: Provide direct training to personnel to support company cross-training goals, ensuring a safety-conscious, quality-oriented, skilled workforce.
  4. Installation and Testing: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems, ensuring a defect-free system.
  5. Quality Assurance: Ensure quality and efficiency of all installations, troubleshooting, and teaching troubleshooting processes to provide timely, quality repairs of malfunctioning systems.
  6. Repair and Replacement: Demonstrate effective repair techniques using acceptable practices, including splicing, soldering, and pinning of wiring, to ensure installations meet conformity.
  7. Test Equipment Operation: Set up and operate necessary test equipment, conducting functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability.
  8. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain daily logs and other paperwork, ensuring that all work performed on the aircraft is properly and completely documented.
  9. Pre-Inspection and Quality Control: Pre-inspect work of others prior to submitting to inspection for approval, reducing rework and inspection time.
  10. Test Equipment Maintenance: Provide technical expertise in testing and maintaining test equipment and electronic systems and components as required.
  11. Company Programs and Regulations: Enforce the company FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations.
  12. Adaptability and Coordination: Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Teaching and Training: Teach the installation and functional testing of electrical/avionics components and systems, ensuring a defect-free system.
  2. Self-Inspection and Flight Testing: Perform self-inspection capability for all avionics testing functions in applicable areas and may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Requirements
  1. Preferred Proficiency: Preferred proficiency in the operation and troubleshooting of other aircraft systems or disciplines, such as hydraulics, landing gear, flight controls, environmental controls, or structural installations and repairs.
  2. APU and Engine Run Qualification: APU run qualification and engine run qualification preferred.
  3. Blueprint and Schematic Diagrams: Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  4. Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
