Job Title: Applications Engineer 3

At Daniel Defense, we are committed to building the world's finest weapon systems and accessories. As an Applications Engineer 3, you will play a critical role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency in our production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and coordinate the integration of machinery and equipment into our manufacturing process, applying knowledge of engineering and programming principles.
  • Write CNC machine operating programs using computer-aided CAM software or edit existing machine programs, applying knowledge of programming languages and computer software.
  • Design work holding solutions to manufacture components to print specifications using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Program CNC machines, set up machines, troubleshoot, and complete machine run-off as needed.
  • Conduct manufacturing capability studies of machined components to ensure consistent capability to produce parts as designed.
  • Operate manual tool room equipment as well as CNC mills, lathes, and grinders.
  • Research equipment needs for manufacturing of in-house components and provide feedback to management regarding equipment purchases.
  • Aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, redesigning existing systems to meet production goals.
  • Oversee installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
  • Mentor, train, and educate engineers and machinists in metal removal, fixture design, work holding, and programming.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering and 4-7 years of experience (including CNC machining/programming experience).
  • May conduct user training and supervise and guide the work of junior engineers.
  • Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project, working independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field, with a strong attention to detail and excellent record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure, and work in close quarters.
  • Self-motivated, willing to put in extra effort and hours as needed, and able to work effectively with all company officials, employees, vendors, etc.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the normal work day.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including working in and around machinery, exposure to noise and chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
