Job Title: Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Concept Schools. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in maximizing the learning experience of students with special needs, providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and implementing district-approved curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments, testing, and diagnostic examinations to identify learning issues and develop action plans.
  • Participate in PPTs and develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Assist students and teaching staff in implementing IEPs and behavior management plans.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies, organizations, and institutions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Illinois State Board of Education LBS1 licensure required.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Masters degree in Special Education (recommended).
  • Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
