Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for evaluating, performing, and overseeing various laboratory tests and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and document test results, quality control, and maintenance procedures according to technical policy and procedure.
  • Oversee and evaluate the performance of testing, quality control, maintenance, and procedures for assigned area.
  • Prepare monthly quality summary reports documenting the performance of instruments, quality control, linearity, service visits, and clinical service issues.
  • Coordinate service visits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards associated with governing and accrediting agencies.
  • Teach, assess competency, mentor, and precept other laboratory employees and students in technical procedures and policies.
  • Provide input into Medical Technologists' initial, six-month, and annual training, performance appraisals, and annual competency.
  • Demonstrate leadership and perform duties in a manner to promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction, while promoting safety, cost efficiency, and a commitment to the PI process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a biological science required (equivalency required for foreign education).
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified CLS (ASCP), or Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International)CM, or Cytotechnologist CT (ASCP) certification.
  • Two years of pertinent experience in a high complexity laboratory in the assigned/specified area.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced laboratory environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, biological agents, and other hazardous materials. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
