Job Summary

The Cashier maximizes store profitability through accurate register operation, best in class customer service, and efficient merchandising. This role helps us to build skills and change lives in each of our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and inviting them to return.
  • Process transactions accurately, professionally, and efficiently.
  • Actively promote the Round-Up program, informing all customers at each transaction how their contribution helps build skills and change lives in our community.
  • Keep the sales floor fresh and full by quickly and efficiently merchandising and salvaging items.
  • Continuously pick up items, return shopping carts/baskets, and place merchandise in the appropriate area.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and safe environment by following established 5S principles and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor the fitting rooms, returning items to the floor, and report known theft to the Manager or AP Agent.
  • Consistently interact with coworkers, shoppers, and donors in a professional and pleasant manner.
  • Assist Asset Protection Agents, if 18 or older, may be asked to act as a witness for shoplifting detentions.
  • Work the process by supporting production, rotation, and 1-touch optimization.
  • Consistently perform all duties within the framework of our Core Values.
Requirements
  • Ability to ring sales on a cash register and use basic math to count money.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the facility and use a full range of motion to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate.
