Unit Overview

This unit features 16 operating rooms staffed by multidisciplinary teams, consistently recognized as national leaders in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery by US News & World Report. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, our skilled team is adept at managing both acute and urgent trauma cases, as well as scheduled procedures for pediatric and adult patients. We uphold a standard of excellence in Orthopedics and Neurosurgery, utilizing advanced technologies such as Surgical Theatre, robotic-assisted, endoscopic, and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Role Responsibilities

The Surgical Technologist II is tasked with preparing and maintaining the surgical suite, managing instruments during procedures, ensuring the sterile field is upheld, and adapting to changing conditions throughout surgical operations. This role requires a thorough understanding of surgical protocols and may involve serving as a preceptor for new staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma is required.
  • Associate degree or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent training (military, etc.) is required; not all programs necessitate an associate degree, or alternatively, 1 year of relevant experience is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist is preferred (clinical rotations are considered as experience).
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.

Work Environment

This position is full-time with variable shifts and hours, including weekends.
