Key Responsibilities:
As a physician, you will:
  • Oversee the medical services and general health care of clients.
  • Provide medical expertise in developing new or revised treatment techniques and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable licensing and accreditation standards in medical care practices and documentation.
  • Review medical policies and procedures to maintain compliance with standards.
  • Develop goals and objectives aimed at enhancing client medical care and related services.
  • Supervise services provided by registered nurses or other licensed staff to ensure appropriate treatment.
  • Review documentation to ensure medical records meet established guidelines.
  • Act as the attending physician for clients, reviewing admission records and discharge plans.
  • Provide on-site medical clinic services according to an established schedule.
  • Collaborate with the Director and other medical advisory staff to address client treatment issues.
  • Develop and deliver training on medical issues related to addiction and substance abuse treatment.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • A current professional license to practice medicine in the state of Illinois and Board Certification.
  • Certification or eligibility by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) as a qualified medical practitioner in addiction medicine.
  • Strong communication skills to foster cooperative relationships with clinical staff and agency representatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities to oversee medical care and ensure compliance with standards.
  • The ability to assess and interpret client data to provide appropriate health-related care.

Physical Requirements:
This position primarily involves sedentary work, with the ability to communicate effectively in person or by phone, and the capacity to record and analyze data accurately.
