Special Education Teaching Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team in a Burlington school district. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with disabilities and providing inclusive education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other school staff.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities to ensure their unique needs are met.
  • Teach core academic subjects, such as math, reading, and writing, using specialized instruction techniques to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Utilize assistive technology, accommodations, and modifications to support students' access to the curriculum and promote equal opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other school staff, including general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers, to support students' academic and social-emotional needs.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment and progress monitoring to inform instruction and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and behavior to ensure effective support.
  • Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities as required to stay updated on best practices.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field to demonstrate expertise in the field.
  • Arizona teaching certification in Special Education to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting to showcase understanding of diverse needs.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations to ensure compliance and effective support.
  • Ability to pass a background check and obtain any necessary clearances to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other school staff to promote a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing situations to ensure flexibility and responsiveness.
