We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician to join our team as a Medical Director in our Long-Term Care facility in Elizabeth City, NC.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Internal Medicine Specialist to provide high-quality patient care and manage complex diseases. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, including hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes.
- Prescribe and administer medication, therapy, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
- Conduct thorough physical exams, take medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as needed.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication regimens and lifestyle modifications.
- Monitor patients' conditions and progress, and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.
- Provide health and wellness advice to patients, including diet, physical activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Immunize patients against preventable diseases.
- Maintain detailed records of patient interactions, including comments, tests, and/or treatments prescribed, and test results.
- Refer patients to other medical specialists, when necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements:
- Current Internal Medicine Doctor license in the state of practice required.
- Completion of 3 to 7 years internship and clinical residency program in Internal Medicine.
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine (BC/BE).
- Five (5) plus years of experience in Internal Medicine.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
