Position Overview:
We are looking for a Head of Sales and Marketing (Business Development) who will take charge of overseeing and organizing our sales force. This role involves managing the company’s sales operations by formulating business strategies, achieving set objectives, and collaborating with the marketing team for lead generation. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of your sales team by establishing metrics for tracking sales achievements, individual targets, and facilitating continuous training for your sales personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee organizational sales, marketing, and business development by crafting a comprehensive business plan that addresses sales, revenue, and expense management.
  2. Lead and expand a sales team of 25 to 40 members. Proven experience in team management and growth is essential.
  3. Achieve predetermined sales targets and establish individual performance goals for the sales team, while tracking and reporting results as necessary.
  4. Supervise the activities and effectiveness of the sales team and coordinate with marketing for lead generation initiatives.
  5. Provide ongoing training for sales personnel and enhance the sales team through motivation, guidance, and product knowledge development.
  6. Promote the organization and its products while understanding our target customers and their relationship with our offerings.
  7. Recruit, onboard, and train sales staff, set sales objectives, evaluate performance against these goals, and adjust targets as required.
  8. Evaluate current team processes and procedures, identify areas for enhancement, and implement improvements.
  9. Establish individual quotas and assign territories to team members, while providing accurate sales forecasts and mentoring team members.
  10. Encourage a competitive yet collaborative team atmosphere, assess individual performance through observation and metrics, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
  11. Review production and manufacturing commitments to ensure compliance with safety, quality, financial, cost, and delivery standards.
  12. Assist the chief operating officer with long-term operational goals, workforce planning, expansion strategies, and the integration of new technologies.
  13. Identify and communicate training opportunities for staff to enhance their skills.
  14. Organize and lead operational management functions and teams for optimal efficiency.
  15. Collaborate with the chief financial officer to develop the operational budget and manage costs effectively.
  16. Deliver progress and production updates to executive team members as requested.
  17. Support and oversee Supply Chain Management, Warehouse, Purchasing, Maintenance, and Facilities operations.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned, including S&OP, Quality, Supply Chain Management, and Revenue responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  1. Over 20 years of experience in managing overall Sales, Marketing, Business Development, and sales team operations, with relevant experience in the cosmetic manufacturing sector.
  2. Expertise in strategic and tactical sales and marketing for Cosmetics Contract Manufacturing.
  3. Proactive management of Contract Manufacturing execution and planning to support mid to high volume production.
  4. Management of Direct Order fulfillment processes and customer commitment timelines.
  5. Experience in risk mitigation, including management of Excess and Obsolescence.
  6. Development and execution of outsourced assembly and strategic component sourcing plans.
  7. Collaboration on Supplier Management initiatives aimed at Material Management, Lead-time reduction, and Cost reductions.
  8. Implementation of improvements to the Outsourcing and Contract Manufacturing processes to enhance Customer Satisfaction, accelerate Supply Chain ramp-up, reduce Costs, and monitor Inventory levels closely.
  9. Negotiation and management of strategic Supply and Service agreements with contract manufacturers.
  10. Ensure effective communication and cross-functional support for daily issue management.
  11. Support and conduct supply chain and strategic vendor communications across multiple locations, providing status updates and reports to executive management.
