About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital. As a key member of our imaging services team, you will be responsible for facilitating high-quality Computed Tomography examinations for patients, ensuring accurate protocols, and adhering to established procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, facilitate Computed Tomography examinations for all patients, verifying accuracy of protocols prior to exams.
  • Check for contrast allergies and contraindications for all patients, adhering to policies and procedures for daily operations.
  • Work with the Computed Tomography Supervisor to ensure that imaging standards are maintained, participating in the research and development of new exam and protocols.
  • Enter accurate charges in EMR for all exams, ensuring that all exams are of high quality and available for interpretation in a timely fashion.
  • Follow workflow plan developed by the supervisor, alerting to problems as necessary to a changing environment, and recommending changes to protocols to improve overall quality and care for patients.
  • Participate in quality assurance plan for the Computed Tomography program, actively participating in plan of action in accordance with workflow needs.
  • Monitor equipment performance, taking appropriate measures to resolve problems, and perform equipment QC on scanners, temperature checks on contrast warmer and refrigerator.
  • Maintain competency on injectors, POCT devices, and consistently demonstrate effective communication with departmental, hospital staff, and vendors.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved program in Radiologic Sciences.
  • Massachusetts Department of Public Health licensure for Radiologic Technologist and CT.
  • ARRT registry in Radiologic Sciences and Computed Tomography.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a licensed technologist.
Working Conditions

Work in an area that can be noisy and have extreme temperature/humidity variations, with minimal exposure to ionizing radiation. Continuous standing, sitting, and lifting are required, with exposure to human waste and disease. Must be able to lift and move >25 pounds of weight, and may require up to 100 pounds of force in pulling/pushing/lifting/supporting movements associated with patient's ambulation, transfers to/from wheelchairs and stretchers, or other movements.
