Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior HVAC Technician to join our team at the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles. As a key member of our Facilities Services and Planning group, you will be responsible for overseeing maintenance, construction, and renovation projects involving HVAC systems, chiller plant operation, and related services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance, construction, and renovation projects involving HVAC systems, chiller plant operation, and related services.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in a wide variety of HVAC fields and extremely knowledgeable in numerous trade crafts involving multiple manufacturer types, makes, and models.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems to identify problems and minimize equipment downtime, complying with building codes and regulations and federal, local, and state laws.
  • Install, remove, maintain, and repair HVAC components and systems, and perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems and components.
Requirements
  • Possess certifications in HVAC and display considerable experience in the HVAC field.
  • Have considerable experience in the construction trades, multiple trade disciplines, and minimal journeyman level experience in 2 or more trades.
  • Have considerable experience in facilities management roles, knowledge in a wide variety of trades roles, and experience in work order systems and workflow processes/procedures.
  • Have extensive experience with MS products, computers, software, emails, phones, schedules, and spreadsheets.
  • Have considerable knowledge and experience with State Procurement rules, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess a majority of the EPA certifications required for processing refrigerants.
  • Have multiple training certificates for various makes/models.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Virginia Driver's License.
