Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthopedic Nursing Unit Leader to join our team at Ascension St. Vincent in Carmel, Indiana.

About the Job

This leadership role is responsible for managing the activities, workflow, and nursing resources of assigned nursing units. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements, conduct hiring, training, and development of staff, identify and resolve issues affecting patient care services, and develop policies and procedures to guarantee efficient delivery of health services.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Manage nursing unit(s) to achieve optimal patient outcomes, quality, and safety standards.
  • Staff Development: Hire, train, direct, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure they possess the necessary skills and competencies to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues affecting patient care services, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Patient Care: Develop and implement plans to improve patient satisfaction, quality of care, and patient safety.
  • Financial Management: Monitor and adhere to budget, approve or monitor expenditures, purchases, and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
Requirements
  • BLS Provider certification obtained within 1 month of hire date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
