About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Golf Course Maintenance Manager to join our team at Air Force Special Operations Command.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the efficient and effective operation of a golf course maintenance program.
  • Oversee the repair and management of golf cart fleets.
  • Ensure the maintenance of golf course greens, tees, practice areas, ranges, irrigation systems, clubhouse grounds, and landscaping.
  • Manage on-course restroom facilities, wooded areas, unused acreage, and maintenance vehicles and equipment.
  • Plan and execute maintenance and project work, applying agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve maintenance standards and long-range goals.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in golf course maintenance.
  • Technical knowledge of turf propagation, cultivation, course equipment, mechanics, irrigation, drainage systems, controls, horticulture, insect/pest control, and turf diseases.
  • Knowledge of personnel management principles and policies sufficient to supervise ground maintenance staff.
  • Knowledge of grass seeds, sprigs, plant nutritional products, plant control products, soil, and sand mixtures.
  • Knowledge of golf course construction and golfing techniques.
  • Current state/federal certification license as a pesticide, chemical applicator, and manager.
