Job Summary

We are seeking a part-time Usher Assistant to assist patrons with their customer service needs while attending a public or private event at the UPMC Events Center.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patrons with seating and provide information about the venue.
  • Maintain a visible presence on post and oversee assigned areas for spills or situations requiring staff attention.
  • Direct patrons with disabilities to wheelchair seating areas and receive and act on complaints according to established policies and procedures.
  • Supply information about venue amenities and monitor aisles/steps in assigned sections to ensure compliance with fire code.
Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and climb stairs in restricted lighting.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings, with casual labor, seasonal, and non-guaranteed hours.
  • Good communication skills, a neat and clean appearance, and the ability to operate radio devices.
  • 18 years old and up, with one year prior experience in a customer service position preferred.
