The Apple Services Engineering (ASE) division exemplifies Apple's enduring commitment to merging creativity with technology.
This team is responsible for the infrastructure that supports the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books, delivering high-quality entertainment in over 35 languages across more than 150 countries.These engineers create secure, comprehensive solutions.They design the bespoke software utilized for processing creative content, the tools that providers use to distribute that media, as well as the server-side systems and APIs for various Apple services.

While services have become an increasingly significant aspect of Apple's business, these teams remain compact, agile, and cross-functional, providing extensive exposure to diverse opportunities.
Responsibilities:Oversee and sustain the orchestration service for object storage, focusing on measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
- Develop, operate, and maintain SRE tools and applications.
- Engage in enhancing the entire lifecycle of services from conception through deployment, operations, and optimization.
- Analyze logs and telemetry data by crafting monitoring and automation scripts.
- Participate in on-call duties and release management rotations.
- Provide technical insights and troubleshooting during service-level impacting incidents.
- Engage in code reviews, internal infrastructure enhancements, and process improvements.
- Manage our application at scale across multiple geographically distributed public and private cloud environments to support Apple's critical internal initiatives.
- Collaborate with dependent teams and stakeholders through effective communication.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with over 5 years of experience.
At least 5 years in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure-centric role.
Preferred Qualifications:- Fundamental understanding of the Linux Operating System, standard networking protocols, and components.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes in both public and private cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience managing a large array of diverse systems with configuration management, infrastructure provisioning tools, or software delivery platforms (such as Terraform and Spinnaker).
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
At Apple, base pay is one component of our comprehensive compensation package and is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth as you advance within your role. The base pay range for this position is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
Employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if they voluntarily participate in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
