We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Prevention Specialist I to join our team at LifeSkills Inc.
About the Job:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in a human services field and two years of experience working in a human services field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to substance use prevention coalitions and other organizations, on evidence-based strategies and the Strategic Prevention Framework in the Barren River Region;
- Work collaboratively with other staff members of the Regional Prevention Center to ensure alignment of collaboration efforts with needs assessment driven work plan, CMHC work plan, YE deliverables, and Collaboration deliverables;
- Support collection of community-level needs assessment data through evaluation activities such as focus groups, interviews, and environmental scans;
- Ability to make self-initiated contact with multiple stakeholders;
- Entering all service data in the Prevention Data System.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a human services field (e.g., Addiction, Behavioral Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Public Health, Sociology, Education)
- Two years+ of experience working in a human services field
- Ability to apply for a Certified Prevention Specialist certification within two years of hire.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use required
- Regional and statewide travel required
- Proven ability to build relationships, trust and deepen connections with diverse people and groups.
- Skilled in the areas of organization, verbal/written communication, facilitation, conflict resolution, presentation preparation, and report development.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
