Survey Crew Chief

The Survey Crew Chief is a key role in our team, responsible for overseeing the performance of surveys, including boundary and topographic surveys, physical feature and utility location surveys, and construction stakeout. This position requires strong leadership skills, as you will be supervising a field crew and providing direction to survey technicians.

• Plan and coordinate field survey activities, procedures, and methods for survey projects
• Make and review survey calculations, develop field survey sketches, and prepare, record, and review survey field data
• Check plans against field conditions for inconsistencies
• Apply knowledge of principles, practices, and methods of field surveying, including the uses and capabilities of survey instruments and algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in field surveying, utilizing Robotic Total Stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced work environment
• Flexibility to change and/or perform simultaneous tasks
• Willingness to travel to project sites, client offices, and other company offices

• Perform topographic, boundary, existing conditions, environmental, and related surveys
• Calculations for and performance of construction layout plus as-built surveys
• Strong math skills and ability to perform field calculations and sketching
• Supervision of and responsibility for safety of survey crew members
• Ability to meet project deadlines within budget
