Role SummaryThe Advanced Practice Clinician plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive health care services. This position involves conducting thorough assessments, including detailed patient histories and physical examinations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and implementing treatment protocols under the guidance of a supervising physician. The clinician will actively engage in collaborative efforts with the medical team and participate in various committees and meetings within Shasta Community Health Center.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed patient histories and physical examinations.
- Order relevant diagnostic tests and apply appropriate therapeutic interventions in accordance with established practice guidelines.
- Seek consultation from the supervising physician for cases that exceed the scope of practice or present unfamiliar challenges.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their health care, ensuring they receive proper education and support during their treatment.
- Exhibit proficiency in health care delivery through peer review processes, including chart evaluations and collaboration with physician mentors and support staff.
- Actively participate in Medical Staff meetings, Advanced Practice Clinician meetings, and other relevant committees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Maintain current medical licenses and provide copies to Human Resources.
- Annually submit proof of completed Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours to Human Resources.
- Fulfill other responsibilities as designated within the scope of practice.
- Graduated from a nationally accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
- Possess a valid California license upon hire and maintain it without restrictions.
- Hold current PA certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or NP certification from the American Nurses' Association.
- Maintain CPR certification upon hire.
- Prior experience in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting.
- ACLS certification.
- BCLS certification.
