Part Time

UHealth Tower is seeking a dedicated Oncology Infusion Nurse to join our team.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Registered Nurse responsible for administering standard chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments, as well as other medications related to research studies.

This role involves providing care to oncology patients and those involved in various research protocols.

Key responsibilities include monitoring patient responses to treatment, managing side effects, and collecting necessary laboratory samples as per each protocol.

The nurse will also assist in maintaining current protocol information within clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer standard chemotherapy, biotherapy agents, and non-chemotherapy medications.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses and side effects, obtaining pharmacokinetic blood samples and other laboratory specimens as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date protocol information in clinical areas and document accurately according to clinical practice standards.
  • Provide support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment and protocol requirements.
  • Adhere to UHealth Tower and unit-level policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program; a Bachelor's degree (BSN) is preferred. RNs with an Associate's degree (ASN) must complete the BSN within two years.
  • Completion of the Oncology Nurse Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Guidelines provider course is required.
Oncology certification (OCN) is preferred.

Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of two (2) years of oncology nursing experience, including recent experience in administering chemotherapy and biotherapy agents.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, nursing care methods, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Excellent patient experience skills.
