Job Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of employees and the environment within the manufacturing workplace. The EHS Specialist will conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks. Additionally, this role will involve developing and conducting risk assessments, maintaining OSHA compliance, and providing administrative support to the EH&S Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) to ensure safe working practices.
  • Maintain OSHA compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect and manage injury data to effectively reduce the injury rate and near misses.
  • Enforce Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the EH&S Director, including typing, copying, and distributing correspondence and reports.
  • Coordinate and conduct compliance monitoring, including noise studies, ergonomic evaluations, and industrial hygiene monitoring.
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team during emergency evacuations and other plant emergencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, and/or Environmental Science.
  • Experience working with OSHA standards and safety procedures.
  • 2+ years of experience working with an OSHA-based Safety Program, preferred.
  • Experience performing Job Hazard Analyses and Industrial Hygiene assessments, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn new programs as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory requirements, such as OSHA and EPA regulations.
