Position Summary
FirstWave Innovations is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee and guide all maintenance activities and designated projects within the facility, ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and maintain effective maintenance protocols for equipment through preventive maintenance strategies and practices.
- Delegate and track planned preventive maintenance work orders, performing daily assessments and reporting necessary adjustments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all labor, materials, and tasks through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) on a daily basis.
- Evaluate planned jobs for thoroughness and accuracy, making necessary adjustments and finalizing labor, materials, methods, and priorities.
- Guide the maintenance team on approved tasks based on the mechanics' skill levels.
- Provide assistance and expertise in diagnosing equipment issues.
- Support initiatives for process enhancement, cleanliness, and safety within the department.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations, implementing required safety programs, conducting formal training, and monitoring adherence.
- Oversee maintenance budget and expenses to ensure financial control.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers.
- Engage in the design and development of future production capabilities by participating in design discussions, collaborating with Research & Development on product modifications, and updating maintenance procedures accordingly.
- Responsible for creating and managing capital project proposals, organizing work for capital initiatives, and executing projects within budget and timelines.
- Maintain Food Safety and Quality Systems as designated.
- Participate in facility audits and address corrective actions resulting from those audits.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or 5-8 years of relevant experience in maintenance management, repair, or equipment assembly.
- Demonstrated knowledge of preventive maintenance and repair methodologies.
- Familiarity with Statistical Process Control, planning, problem-solving, and data collection techniques.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Experience with electrical and mechanical maintenance in industrial food manufacturing settings is advantageous.
- Understanding of Low Acid Aseptics.
- Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations.
