We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Reading Teacher to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Instructional Plans: Create and implement individualized instructional plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students with special needs.
- Teach Reading Skills: Provide explicit instruction in reading skills, including phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension, to students with special needs.
- Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess student progress and adjust instructional plans accordingly to ensure students meet their academic goals.
- Communicate with Parents and Colleagues: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
- Manage Classroom Environment: Establish and maintain a well-organized and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Education and Licensure: Bachelor's degree and current New Mexico teaching certificate endorsed in the area of special education.
- Experience and Skills: Proven experience in teaching reading skills to students with special needs, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
