Key Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Supervisor will:
- Oversee nursing operations primarily in the Health Care Center, with occasional support for Assisted Living and Memory Care.
- Manage staffing schedules and address urgent staffing needs as they arise.
- Evaluate nursing staff performance in accordance with established quality assurance standards.
- Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
- Monitor residents' conditions, documenting significant changes and communicating with supervisors, physicians, and families as necessary.
- Participate in daily rounds and assist with the admission process for new residents.
- Assess resident needs and deliver nursing care according to individualized care plans.
- Ensure resident rights are upheld and address any complaints or concerns appropriately.
- Provide emotional and spiritual support to residents and their families during critical times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents.
- Engage in safety programs and performance improvement initiatives.
- Attend relevant in-service training sessions.
- Collaborate effectively with residents, staff, and families.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a charge nurse or nursing supervisor.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities and long-term care preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
