Position Summary

The Receiver / Lead Steward role is essential for managing all incoming shipments, including food, beverages, and various supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of all shipments to the appropriate department representatives.
  • Verify and document deliveries by counting items, signing packing slips, and reconciling with invoices for accounting purposes.
  • Communicate any discrepancies in invoices to purchasing managers.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in receiving areas and storage facilities, ensuring proper rotation of food deliveries to uphold freshness.
  • Monitor inventory levels to optimize profitability by reducing dead stock.
  • Label, date, and store all food and beverage items to prevent spoilage and minimize waste while adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Organize storage for equipment, china, glassware, and silverware.
  • Oversee the receipt and organization of all equipment and CGS deliveries, ensuring proper storage practices.
  • Lead and mentor the Stewarding team, ensuring compliance with sanitation and cleaning standards.
  • Supervise the cleanliness of kitchen equipment and designated areas.
  • Maintain familiarity with MSDS documentation and chemical labeling.
  • Train Kitchen Stewards on the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure the kitchen team has the necessary dishes and silverware, maintaining cleanliness for guest service.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Uphold a clean and safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a receiving role within the food and beverage sector.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively.
  • Exceptional organizational and administrative skills.
  • Open availability, including weekends, early mornings, late nights, and holidays.
  • Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 45 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking and standing throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Occasional pushing and pulling of carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Requires a range of physical activities including grasping, writing, and visual acuity.
