About the Position

This role is primarily responsible for monitoring the clinical and holistic health of residents, delivering care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. As a charge nurse, you will provide person-centered care in collaboration with care partners, medication aides, and an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign tasks to Care Partners and/or Med Techs in accordance with care plans and individual service plans.
  • Educate and provide guidance to the care partner, resident, family members, and other team members as appropriate.
  • Manage emergency medical issues occurring on their tour of duty, under the guidance of the nursing supervisor on duty.
  • Plan and implement clinical interventions when necessary, focusing on pain management, skin integrity, bowel and bladder status, nutrition and hydration, resident safety, and the reduction of injury and medication effects.

Requirements

  • A graduate of an approved LPN program.
  • Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia or a compact state of residence.
  • Current CPR certification.
